When it becomes cold, I am craving two things... one is the soup and the other one is comfort food! This yummy and comfy crispy rice always give pleasure. It is easy and simple and only 2 main ingredients, rice, and saffron. It can be served besides your thanksgiving turkey as well. It goes well with everything.
1 cup white basmati rice 3 tbsp olive oil 2 tsp sea salt 1 tbsp butter 2 cups water 2 tbsp bloomed saffron
Bring a none stick pan of water to boil.
Rinse the rice and add it to the boiling water. Add 1 tbsp oil & 1 tsp salt.
After 7-9 minutes, when the rice is cooked al-dente, turn off the heat and rinse the rice again with cold water.
Place the pan on the heat again and add 2 tbsp oil. Wait 1-2 minutes and then add the bloomed saffron to the pan and then add the rice.
Mix 1 tsp of salt with 2 tbsp of water and add it to your rice.
Cover it with a lid and let it cook on medium-low heat for 40 minutes.
When the rice is cooked, add the butter into the middle of the rice and serve it.
Note* make sure your pan is non-stick & if you want more crispiness let it cook for 50 minutes.
