Hotel Ritz Madrid

Afternoon tea was introduced to Britain in the 1840s by the 7th Duchess of Bedford. Apparently because of her hunger during the late afternoon.

If you don't know much about traditional afternoon tea , then i have to mention that we have "afternoon tea "and "hight tea" which is a difference between them . The afternoon tea is taken in the late afternoon (between lunch and dinner) and involves cakes and some finger foods while high tea is a substantial evening meal ( usually savory ).

We welcomed in the beautiful lobby lounge which is taken for the afternoon tea as well .The architects of the Ritz Madrid were Charles Mewes , who designed the first Ritz hotel ( Place Vendôme in 1898) and Luis de Landecho of Madrid. . The belle époque landmark building was designed as a sister property to the existing Ritz hotels in Paris and London.

We have served with different blend teas which came up in elegant

teapots. The variation of different savory sandwiches and sweets were remarkable. I shouldn't forget the cream and the flavory strawberry jam which taste like heaven. Guests are treated perfectly by staff who welcome you kindly.

Alors, if you have time during your trip to Madrid i would recommend this afternoon tea. You can enjoy their beautiful terrace during spring and summer.
