Healthy Banana Bread
Want to make someone’s day? Bake them some banana bread! Just yesterday, I said, “I’m going to bake some banana bread,” and watched a full-grown man’s happy face.
Banana bread is one of those classic, comfort food recipes that fills the whole house with warmth and makes everything better. Banana bread is magic.
The smell of cinnamon & banana makes everyone hungry! You could always topped it with some dark chocolate chips, almonds or some white chocolate chips. What is your favorite one by the way?
What makes this banana bread healthy?
This banana bread recipe is made with 100 percent whole wheat flour and almond flour, unlike traditional banana bread that call for refined flour and lots of processed sugar.
This banana bread is naturally sweetened with honey or maple syrup, which offer some trace nutrients that white sugar does not.
Lastly, this recipe calls for a reasonable amount of good-for-you oil rather than whole sticks of butter (choose from coconut oil, olive oil or vegetable oil).
3 mashed bananas
1 3/4 cups almond flour
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup honey maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking powder
A pinch of salt
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 extra banana for topping
Preheat the oven to 170°c.
In a large bowl, mashed the bananas & add the vanilla, egg, coconut oil, salt & cinnamon & honey. Mix everything well.
Add the almond flour , a pinch of salt & baking powder. Smoothly mix everything with a spoon.
Prepare a baking pan, add the batter to it & cut the banana into half and add it on top of the cake.
Bake it for 50 minutes.
Make sure to let it stay for at least 30 minutes before you serve.
Notice:If you are vegan, you can skip the egg and add 1/4 cup almond milk.
